Maggie Goodsell
In my early employed years I illustrated leaflets for my then employer in a plant shop in London. I then became a self employed grower. Firstly growing salads then cut flowers specialising in Sweet Peas & subsequently breeding new varieties of Chillies & Tomatoes.
To complement our Sweet Pea retail seed business I started painting botanical studies of Sweet Peas which were produced as cards to sell on the website. As my husband had an extensive rare bulb & plant collection I then continued painting these.
Now mostly retired from commercial growing I have more time to devote to my painting, jewellery making & other craft work. I paint anything from simple watercolours & acrylics to more detailed botanical studies. My craft interests are wide and I will tackle most things. I always have the need to create, even if it's just some simple knitting or crochet.
I am currently Chairman of Spalding Arts & Crafts Society, having been a member since the early 1990's.
